1 dead, 1 arrested in Saturday night shooting near University of Denver
One person was shot and killed late Saturday night in a neighborhood block less than a mile south of the University of Denver, according to the police department.

One man was arrested Sunday after a fatal Saturday night shooting in the University of Denver’s neighborhood, according to the police department.
Denver officers responded Saturday night to reports of a shooting in the 2900 block of South Vine Street, near where it intersects with Cornell Avenue, according to an 11:39 p.m. statement on social media from the police department.
The area is less than a mile south of the University of Denver’s campus.
Police said one person, who has not been publicly identified, was shot and died from their injuries at the scene.
Investigators believe the victim and the man arrested Sunday knew each other but didn’t say how, according to an update from the police department. The circumstances surrounding the shooting remain under investigation.
