Arrowhead Elementary in Aurora briefly locked down after student brings gun to school
Aurora police say the student was spotted showing off the gun to their friends.

An Arrowhead Elementary School student was detained Friday morning after Aurora police say they brought a firearm to school, causing a brief lockdown.
Police spokesperson Joe Moylan said officers believe the student was spotted showing the gun to friends. Officers do not believe the student planned to carry out any threat.
The lockdown had been lifted as of 9:40 a.m.
A Cherry Creek School District spokesperson did not immediately respond to an inquiry about the incident.
