Police are investigating after a body was found Wednesday morning in an Aurora retention pond outside of the University of Colorado’s Anschutz Medical Campus.
The person, who has not been publicly identified, was found dead in a retention pond at East Colfax Avenue and Quentin Street, outside of the hospital, CU Anschutz spokesperson Kelsea Pieters said.
Pieters said investigators don’t believe there was foul play and there is no threat to the campus at this time. The incident remains under investigation.
The victim will be identified by the Adams County Coroner’s Office.
Pieters did not answer questions about whether investigators believe the person died from exposure to the subzero overnight temperatures.
