Broncos CB Pat Surtain II to play vs. Chargers, RB Jaleel McLaughlin ruled out
Pat Surtain II (ankle) is expected to play on Thursday night against the Chargers.
Broncos cornerback Pat Surtain II (ankle) is expected to play on Thursday night against the Chargers after being listed as a full participant in Denver’s estimated injury report for the third straight day.
Starting defensive end John Franklin-Myers (foot) and nose tackle D.J. Jones (finger) were also listed as full participants and expected to play in Denver’s prime-time showdown.
Surtain sustained an ankle injury in the fourth quarter of last week’s win against the Colts. Postgame, Surtain had his ankle wrapped and didn’t need a walking boot. On Monday, Surtain said his ankle was feeling better.
Broncos cornerback Riley Moss (knee) will miss his third straight game. However, Moss was listed as a limited participant this week, meaning he could potentially play next week against the Bengals.
With Moss sidelined, rookie cornerback Kris Abrams-Draine is expected to play a significant role after giving up one catch for 11 yards on seven targets in the win over the Colts.
Running back Jaleel McLaughlin (quad) will not play on Thursday. McLaughlin got hurt in the third quarter against Indianapolis after getting hit on a 2-yard reception with six minutes to go. He never returned to the game and was seen riding an exercise bike in the fourth quarter.
McLaughlin was listed as a non-participant on Monday and Wednesday and limited on Tuesday.
