A Cherry Creek School District bus was struck by a hit-and-run driver on eastbound Interstate 70 on Thursday afternoon, according to district and police officials

The bus was transporting one student to an out-of-district school, along with a bus assistant and driver, when the crash happened, said district spokesperson Abbe Smith. No one was injured and all three are being checked out by medical personnel.

Denver police and fire crews responded to the hit-and-run crash near I-70 and Pecos Street at 2:46 p.m., according to the agencies. The crash is still under investigation and further information was not immediately available.
