Colorado road conditions: I-70 reopens, U.S. 6 remains closed amid winter weather in mountains

Heavy snowfall in Colorado’s mountains and whiteout conditions fueled by strong winds shut down parts of Interstate 70 and U.S. 6 on Monday, according to the Colorado Department of Transportation.
As of 9:45 a.m. Monday, eastbound I-70 had reopened after it was closed between Exit 203 for East Frisco and Exit 216 for U.S. 6 and Loveland Pass because of “adverse” weather conditions, CDOT officials said.
Cameras in the area of the closure showed white, snow-covered lanes on the eastbound interstate during the closure.
U.S. 6 remains closed for “safety concerns” in both directions between mile marker 222 and Interstate 70, according to CDOT. The closure includes Loveland Pass.
This is a developing story and will be updated.
