NWS forecasters said the roads, especially mountain passes, are “quickly deteriorating“ and will continue to worsen as snow intensifies throughout the day.
As of 6:30 a.m., multiple Waze users had reported icy roads and traffic jams along eastbound Interstate 70 in the mountains, according to the Colorado Department of Transportation.
One report runs from Exit 180 for East Vail to Exit 198 for Officers Gulch near Copper Mountain.
