Updates

Class 5A girls: No. 5 Green Mountain (23-2) vs. No. 4 Roosevelt (22-3)

8:40 a.m.: We’re just minutes from the start of the Great 8 inside Denver Coliseum. First up: The two-time defending champion Roosevelt Rough Riders begin their three-peat bid with a matchup against the Green Mountain Rams.

Led by the D-I tandem of Kyla Hollier and Ryanne Bahnsen-Price (San Diego), the Riders are as dangerous as ever. If Green Mountain can knock them off, it will be the Riders’ first loss in the state tournament with Hollier in the lineup. — Matt Schubert
