The cost of Disney Plus has increased multiple times since the service's launch in 2019, but it remains a competitively-priced streaming option. Plans currently start at $10 a month, following a recent rate increase. All members get access to the full Disney Plus library of movies and shows, including exclusive series like "Agatha All Along," new movies like "Inside Out 2," and a huge back catalog filled with animated classics.

On October 17, 2024, most tiers of Disney Plus increased in price by an average of $2. You can save if you sign up for a Disney Plus Bundle with Hulu and either Max or ESPN Plus. And you get Disney Plus included with a Hulu + Live TV membership for no extra cost.

Despite the recent Disney Plus price hike, we think the platform remains one of the best streaming services you can sign up for, especially for families and fans of Marvel and "Star Wars." Even after the increase, the ad-free plan remains comparable to similar options from Netflix or Max.

How much does Disney Plus cost? 

There are a few different Disney Plus prices depending on whether you want to pay monthly, commit to an annual subscription, or bundle Disney Plus with Hulu, ESPN Plus, and/or Max. Below is how much it costs to subscribe to Disney Plus as of December 2024.

What's included in the regular monthly price? 

Disney Plus features differ slightly whether you sign up for the Basic plan with ads or the Premium plan without ads. However, you can access all of the same shows and movies no matter which ad tier you decide.

The Disney Plus Basic plan with ads includes:

• Ad-supported streaming for thousands of Disney movies and TV shows
• Up to 4K playback with HDR and Dolby Vision support on select titles
• Ability to stream on four devices simultaneously
• Ability to add up to seven profiles

The Disney Plus Premium plan without ads also offers these extra features:

• Ad-free streaming
• Unlimited downloads
• Dolby Atmos immersive sound on select titles

Can you get Disney Plus for free?

As of writing, there aren't any active deals allowing free access to Disney Plus, though the platform often partners with companies like Verizon to offer free plans through other services. We'll update this section if new promotions become available.

What is Disney Plus Premier Access?

Though the full Disney Plus catalog is included with a standard subscription price, Disney occasionally offers early access to select titles that are still playing in theaters for an additional $30 fee. This option is called "Premier Access."

The first Disney Plus Premier Access movie was "Mulan," released in September 2020. Disney followed up by releasing "Raya and the Last Dragon," "Cruella," Marvel's "Black Widow," and "Jungle Cruise" via Premier Access in 2021. All of these movies were eventually added to the Disney Plus catalog after about three months in Premier Access.

Disney has not announced plans to release any additional Premier Access movies.

How does the Disney Plus price compare to the cost of other streaming services? 

The ad-free Disney Plus price is competitive when compared to similar streaming services like Max, Hulu, and Netflix, but it's more expensive than other options like Paramount Plus, Peacock, and Apple TV Plus. What are the Disney Plus bundle options?

If you want to watch sports and additional movies and TV shows from non-Disney sources, you can save some money by choosing one of the Disney Plus bundles with Hulu and ESPN Plus or Max.

The Disney Plus (ads), Hulu (ads), and ESPN Plus bundle costs $17 monthly. You can also bundle Disney Plus (ad-free) with Hulu (ad-free) and ESPN Plus for $27 a month. The bundle can save you more than 40% off the regular combined price of all three services. 

Alternatively, you can save by bundling Disney Plus with Hulu and Max. You can sign up for the three services with ads for $17 a month, or opt for ad-free streaming for $30 a month, saving you up to 38% compared to subscribing to each individually.

Does Disney Plus charge for password sharing?

Disney Plus does not allow members to share their passwords with users outside their household. However, this doesn't necessarily mean that you have to pay for a new subscription. Instead of signing up for a brand-new plan, there's an Extra Member option for both the ad-supported and ad-free versions of Disney Plus. Extra Member add-on subscriptions cost an extra $7 a month for Basic and $10 a month for Premium.
