Very dry and windy conditions are forecast Tuesday afternoon,
leading to numerous hours of critical fire weather conditions and
extreme values of the Grassland Fire Danger Index. Winds are
forecast to be from the southwest for much of the day before a
shift to the northwest is forecast during the late afternoon with
a cold front. Blowing dust reducing visibilities down to a mile
or less at time is possible in the Watched and Warned areas which
may create delayed response times of first responders.
* AFFECTED AREA...Fire Weather Zones 027 Wallace and 254
Cheyenne.
* TIMING...From Tuesday afternoon through Tuesday evening.
* WINDS...West 25 to 35 mph with gusts up to 50 mph.
* RELATIVE HUMIDITY...As low as 14 percent.
* IMPACTS...Any fires that develop will likely spread rapidly.
Outdoor burning is not recommended.
