About the Role We're looking for an exceptional Founding Engineer who thrives on building innovative solutions from scratch. You'll take ownership of our core technology development, initially focusing heavily on backend development for AI-driven vendor communication and automated procurement workflows. Our vision goes beyond simple process automation: we aim to establish a buyer-side AI agent and procurement platform, ultimately preparing for a future where AI-to-AI transactions become the norm. Your work will directly impact our pilot customers, shaping their experience through rapid feedback loops, agile iterations, and user-centric product enhancements. What You'll Do System Architecture & Rapid Prototyping: Design lean, scalable, and extensible architecture suited for early-stage startups. Rapidly prototype solutions to validate hypotheses with pilot customers. AI-driven Backend Development: Implement and optimize backend systems integrating cutting-edge AI technologies (LLM, Generative AI) for automating vendor interactions and procurement workflows. Develop an autonomous agent for vendor research and meeting coordination, combining LLM with Retrieval Augmented Generation (RAG) to understand requirements and propose optimal solutions. End-to-End Ownership: Handle integrations (STT, LLM, TTS, Zoom API), manage deployment pipelines (CI/CD), and optimize system scalability and responsiveness. Our core infrastructure relies on AWS (Lambda, Docker, Kubernetes), PostgreSQL, and Vector DB. Pilot Customer Collaboration: Directly collaborate with early customers, gather rapid feedback, and iterate swiftly to refine product experience. Your Skills & Experience Required: Strong engineering foundation (CS fundamentals, software architecture). Proven backend development experience (Python, Node.js, APIs, cloud infrastructure). Proficient in React, TypeScript, and Next.js for building modern web applications. Familiarity with modern cloud platforms (AWS/GCP/Azure). Exposure or deep interest in cutting-edge AI technologies, especially Large Language Models (LLMs). Hands-on experience integrating third-party APIs and rapid prototyping. Startup mindset: resourceful, agile, able to thrive under ambiguity. Excellent problem-solving skills and proactive approach to challenges. Strong communication skills in English. Bonus Points for: Experience designing and implementing evaluation and monitoring frameworks for AI-based workflows. Experience in lightweight development using Supabase and Vercel. Experience with speech recognition (STT), text-to-speech (TTS), conversational AI platforms. Experience in real-time communication using WebSocket and WebRTC. Previous startup or early-stage product experience. Experience working closely with pilot customers to iterate rapidly. Extensive experience utilizing AI-driven editors (such as Cursor) for software development.
