Man found dead at Downtown Detention Center in Denver identified
Miguel Bustillos was in jail for an investigative hold regarding an aggravated assault and two larceny warrants from Longmont, according to Daria Serna, director of communications at the Denver Sheriff Department.

The office identified the man as Miguel Bustillos, 43, in a Thursday release. He was in jail for an investigative hold in an aggravated assault and two larceny warrants from Longmont, according to Daria Serna, director of communications at the Denver Sheriff Department. Bustillos was found dead in a housing unit about 6 a.m. Feb. 8.
The Denver Police Department said the death is not being investigated as a crime. However, the Department of Safety is overseeing an administrative investigation into Bustillos’ death, which is standard procedure for in-custody deaths, according to Serna.
The medical examiner’s office has completed an autopsy but the cause of death is still being investigated.
