Mandatory evacuations ordered in wildfire burning northwest of Fort Collins

A wildfire burning northwest of Fort Collins caused mandatory and voluntary evacuation orders on Tuesday afternoon, according to the Larimer County Sheriff’s Office.

Poudre Fire Authority crews are fighting a second-alarm wildfire near Laporte, in the 4300 block of West County Road 54G, the agency said on social media.

The sheriff’s office issued mandatory evacuations for the area and voluntary evacuations between Laporte and the Cache La Poudre River, from Rawhide Drive to the U.S. 287 bypass.

People under voluntary evacuations should gather essential items and prepare to leave, the sheriff’s office said.

This is a developing story and will be updated.
