Firefighting crews gained 25% containment on the Pearl fire burning west of Fort Collins on Thursday as Larimer County officials lifted more mandatory and voluntary evacuations.

The human-caused fire is burning on 128 acres near Crystal Lakes and sparked on private property Monday. Larimer County officials are still investigating what caused the fire.

Nearly 300 firefighters worked on the fire Thursday, increasing containment along the fire’s southern edge and establishing containment lines along the northern and western edges, U.S. Forest Service officials said in a post on Facebook.

The Larimer County Sheriff’s Office on Thursday lifted all voluntary evacuations and some mandatory evacuation orders for neighborhoods near the fire.

People living in Crystal Lakes and off of Pearl Beaver Road to Deadman Lookout are still under mandatory evacuation orders.
