On the mound: Chase Dollander’s first Cactus League season ended with a dud. The highly touted right-handed pitching prospect, recently assigned to minor league camp, gave up six runs (five earned) on six hits in 3 1/3 innings. He struck out six and walked one. Dollander gave up two more homers, giving him five homers surrendered over 17 2/3 innings. He finished his spring with a 7.13 ERA. … Closer candidate Seth Halvorsen pitched a scoreless inning and struck out two. He has a 6.23 ERA.

At the plate: With most of their starters staying home for the road game, the Rockies managed just five hits and struck out 12 times. … Outfielder Zac Veen, told Sunday that he had been optioned to Triple-A Albuquerque, was 0 for 4 with a strikeout. … Veteran Sam Hilliard, who did make the team despite a poor spring, started in center field and went 1 for 3, raising his average to .125.
