The Regional Transportation District has launched a new bus route running near the South Platte River to connect people in central neighborhoods with Denver’s arts and theater districts.
The bus, dubbed the “Art District Connector,” runs once every 60 minutes between RTD’s 40th/Colorado station in northeast Denver and the Alameda rail station at 425 South Cherokee Street.
It serves the Baker, Five Points, and Elyrea/Swansea neighborhoods in an effort to carry riders to and from the downtown Denver Theatre District, the Art District on Santa Fe, and the RiNo Art District. Riders will roll across Denver’s grid of downtown streets following the river’s curve.
The route is one of several increases in bus and rail services that started Jan. 1, including a re-stared of the AB2 bus route between Boulder and Denver International Airport.
