HAZARDS...A band of heavy snow accompanied by winds of up to 30 MPH which can rapidly reduce visibility to less than a quarter of a mile. This band of heavy snow is producing extremely heavy snow at the rate of 1 to 2 inches per hour and will be moving up valley along I- 70 from Gypsum to Wolcott through 4 pm mdt. LOCATION AND MOVEMENT...At 308 PM MDT, a band of heavy snow was over Gypsum, or 22 miles east of Glenwood Springs moving east at 15 MPH. THIS BAND OF HEAVY SNOW WILL BE NEAR... Eagle and Gypsum around 315 PM MDT. This includes the following highways... Interstate 70 in Colorado between mile markers 137 and 158. Colorado 131 between mile markers 1 and 7. SAFETY INFO... Conditions can deteriorate rapidly in winter weather situations. Be prepared for snow or ice covered roads. Slow down and allow extra time to reach your destination.
