A teenager was arrested Tuesday after an evening crash involving a motorcycle in Thornton killed a man and seriously injured a 12-year-old girl, police said.
The 17-year-old was arrested on suspicion of careless driving causing death after he crashed into a motorcycle on Thornton Parkway while driving a BMW sedan, according to a news release from the Thornton Police Department.

Paramedics took a 38-year-old man and a 12-year-old girl, both of whom were on the motorcycle, to the hospital, police said. The man later died from his injuries and, as of Wednesday morning, the girl remained in critical condition.
The Adams County Coroner’s Office will identify the man after notifying his family.
Police are not publicly identifying the teenage suspect because of his age.
