‘Tell the Truth’: Mother of Md. Woman Slain by Illegal Alien Urges Media to Share Her Story

The mother of Rachel Morin, the Maryland mom of five brutally raped and murdered by an illegal alien in August of 2023, on Wednesday joined a White House briefing to urge the media to share her daughter’s story.

“Tell the truth,” Morin said. “Tell like how violent it really is.”

Morin shared the gruesome details of her daughter’s death on a walking trail near her Maryland home. On Tuesday, Victor Martinez-Hernandez was convicted of first-degree murder, first-degree rape, third-degree sexual offense, and kidnapping in Morin’s case. The jury found Martinez-Hernandez guilty on all four counts.  

“This is about protecting our children,” Morin told reporters. “It’s more than just politics or votes or just anything. It’s about national security, protecting Americans, protecting our children.”

Some of the reporters in the crowd loudly clapped for Morin, shouting out “God bless you” and “thank you.”

For Morin, deporting criminal illegal aliens is not about Democrats or Republicans.

“These are the kind of criminals that we need to remove from our country. We are American citizens. Why should we allow people like this, violent criminals that have no conscience at all, to murder our mothers, our sisters, our daughters?” she asked. “I don’t understand why there’s even any kind of problem with this, and it’s not that it’s political, like the Left or the Right, although I understand liberal parties have used it in the past, but we have to look at it as: We are American citizens. We need to protect our families, our borders, our children.”

Morin’s desire to “preserve life” inspired her to share the grisly details of her daughter’s death with the American public.

“I want to preserve life, and that’s the only reason why I have taken and spoken about Rachel all this time,” Morin said, adding: “Someone comes and puts the hands into your chest and rips out your heart. That’s what it feels like.”
