The 4th of July is almost here, which means many great sales are in full swing. From camping tents to new shoes, you might be surprised what you can find discounted right now. That's why I've gathered the best Independence Day deals to help make shopping easier. 

Though I'd recommend waiting until Amazon Prime Day to shop for many products, mainly gaming, smart home, and electronics, that's not true of all things. Independence Day sales are a great opportunity to find products on sale from direct-to-consumer and startup brands, and these are likely sales we won't see at Amazon's deal event later this month. If you're shopping for furniture, decor, apparel, or outdoor gear, now is a good time to do so.

The best Independence Day furniture sales

Because of the warmer weather and time of year, many furniture stores are holding summer sales with a special emphasis on outdoor pieces and decor; I recommend checking out Burrow, Sundays, and Serena & Lily. That's not to say that you can't find great indoor furniture on sale right now, too — some of my favorite promotions include Benchmade Modern (a top pick in our sofa buying guide) and Crate & Barrel.

Mattress stores love an occasion to hold a sale, and the 4th of July is no exception. For the holiday, prices match those we saw during Presidents Day and Memorial Day from Leesa, Casper, and Mattress Firm. 

The best Independence Day camping and outdoor sales

Shopping for new base layers, hiking boots, or kayaking gear? These sales are perfect for doing just that — it's much rarer to find such a wide spread of outdoor accessories on sale. In particular, REI's summer sale has just about everything you could need, and if you're looking for a backyard firepit, check out BioLite and Solo Stove.

Tons of style and beauty brands are holding summer sales to shop this 4th of July. From Everlane's Summer Sale to Summersalt's Sun Seeker Sale, you can be saving on chic swimsuits, reliable jeans, and much more. When it comes to tech like TVs, smart speakers, and headphones, you're probably better off waiting for Amazon Prime Day coming on July 16. But if you need something urgently, or you're shopping for appliances like air conditioners, these sales are definitely worth looking into.
