Joel and Ellie are back for a second season of HBO's hit video game adaptation. We've compiled everything you need to know about where to watch The Last of Us, including global live streaming options, release info, and news about next season.
Set five years after the events of the first season, Season 2 finds Joel and Ellie settled into Tommy's community of survivors in Wyoming. Like the first season, the second is based on the bestselling video game franchise of the same name. The first season tackled the entirety of Part I, and the second season will follow the plot of The Last of Us Part II. The second game is notably longer than the first, and the creators have noted that the next story will span beyond just one season.
Bella Ramsey and Pedro Pascal reprise their roles as Ellie and Joel, in addition to a few other familiar faces. Other newcomers have joined the cast this season, including Kaitlyn Dever (Abby), Isabela Merced (Dina), Young Mazino (Jesse), and Catherine O'Hara in an undisclosed role. Co-creators Craig Mazin and Neil Druckmann return at the helm of the show, combining Mazin's experience in the film and TV industry (most recently for Chernobyl) with Druckmann's knowledge of TLOU as one of the game's creators.

Will there be a third season of The Last of Us?
HBO officially renewed The Last of Us for a third season on April 9, just days before the premiere of Season 2. The announcement didn't come with any release date news, so there's no telling when the next installment will arrive on our screens. It's important to remember that Season 1 premiered in early 2023, so it's been over two years between seasons so far. However, that time also included the WGA and SAG strikes.
